Hi i recently decided that im going to get an evo shift and i was just wondering how much it would cost me without an upgrade(the lowest price please) . i also wanted to ask if anyone knew if i could buy a sprint phone and activate it on virgin mobile. (sorry im a n00b at stuff like this)

I think you need to ask Virgin Mobile whether they can activate a Sprint phone before shopping any further.

As to your activating on Virgin, it is possible, but they don't like doing it. If you google doing this you will find a lot of people saying no. I do have a neighbor however that was successful. He said however that it took a bunch of wrangling and sweet talking the right person.

It's not am easy task getting a Sprint phone activated on any other carrier. Start there first.
