printing from phone or tablet

i have a client with a canon mx525 printer setup wirelessly on a network.

she has a galaxy S4 phone and tablet.
i can get both of the devices to see the printer but when i try to print:-
the phone tells me the device may not be compatible.
the tablet asks me to install an app from the play store, but doesnt tell me which one.
i installed a canon print app , but this made no difference.

i could print from the laptop to the printer when plugged in with cable.
i could not get the laptop to see the printer wirelessly or install it.
both the samsung tablet and phone could see the printer wirelessly and its IP address, but i could not print. the phone would tell me the device im printing to may not be compatible and the tablet would ask me to install an app.

the printer had both a lan cable attached and i connected the printer wirelessly all with the same results. i removed the lan cable from the printer and tested that also. the printer would connect to the modem wirelessly without any problems.

both the samsung phone and tablet showed an error message " your internet connection is unstable"


you guys got any ideas on this one ?
