prior google messages sometimes don't show up when I look to message those people

Sometimes when I go to message a contact or multiple contacts together prior message history won't show up. For example, just yesterday I went to message my wife and one other person and I had been messaging them previously in the last few days and no message history showed. I created the group message by going to "start chat" and then put both their names in the "to" portion of the app.

Is this a known issue?

Pixel 9 Pro. Google Messages.

I am open to other suggestions for messaging apps. I haven't been that impressed with this option, but it seems to suffice, and I haven't been able to find better choices.

If RCS doesn't matter to you, Textra is a good option to Google Messages, and it has lots of great customization options. If RCS is important to you, you'll have to be content with using Google Messages on your P9P at the present time.

Have you tried to clear cache on the Google Messages app and restart your P9P to see if that helps clear up the message history issue?

I haven't. Just did that.

Will look into Tetra. I don't believe RCS matters.

Sorry for the delay but try what was suggested clearing cache then force stop Google messages.


I'll move this to the pixel 9 Forum to see if anyone else ran into this issue, I haven't on my Pixel 9 pro xl
