PRL 15008

Near as we can figure here on the forum, the consensus seems to be that 15011 is a hybrid PRL for folks who came from or operate in different carrier environments. Carriers such as Alltel. Definitely not applicable to everyone.

I still have PRL 15008. How do I get 15011 on my Thunderbolt?
If you have no issues with TB with making and recv calls why sweat it. PRL on TB is based on roaming deals with other carriers and cell tower enhancements done over recently. Honestly don't sweat it, its all good in the end.

My friend and I have Verizon and have always had it. I have the older PRL while he has the newer one.

I've got 15011 on mine (just checked). I've been with Verizon for EVER. Was Airtouch and then Verizon.

Pull the battery and SIM card. Hold down the power button for 15 seconds then re install all and boot up phone PRL will then update. If by chance PRL then says 1 repete the above process, Also make sure you have a good signal when doing this.

I did this twice and still have the old PRL.

I have 15008 and get great service, battery life, and almost no reboots. Why do you want to change? There's no need. No one even officially knows why some peoples are different.

I just did that and I still have 15008.

That means you have the newest PRL for your area. There is no way force it. Just have to wait until your cell tower updates and sends the info to your phone...

That would be correct. If thats what it loads on that is what is available for your region.

Okay. Then it seems that 15008 is the latest for Denver CO, KS, IL, MO, Savannah GA, FL, SC and NC. I'be been in all those places in the last 10 days.

I have 15011 in Chicago as well. You can also call Verizon and ask to speak with tech support.

Sioux Falls SD and I have 15011 been with VZ for nearly 9 years. So don't believe it has anything to do with coming from another carrier like Alltel seems to be completely based on software(Acqusition list/System table) on towers in your area.

15008 and 15011 are Verizon PRL's with 15011 being the newer one. Since on Launch day I had 15008...I pretty sure the 13??? and 14??? PRL's are those that are in Alltel area's and those are the Hybrids
