Probably a simple question: How do I stop my screen from turning on when getting a message?

Every time I get a message, the screen off my phone turns on. How do I turn this off? (I want to receive messages without my screen turning on automatically)

I really hope someone can help me with this

I am using the samsung s21.

Have you looked in Display settings or Notifications settings?

I am using the samsung s21.

Open device settings and search for "turn", look through the suggestions for something along the lines of " turn on display for new notifications". I think the actual setting may be called ambient display.
