problem after rooting

i have just rooted my evo using the instructions for rooting 2.10 hboot.
flashed ac rebirth_ac-rom
kernel- 2.6.32.17-gee557fd htc-kerel@and18-2 #15
hardware 003.
anyway the problem is that the vibe is not working(no haptic,no vibe fuction at all) could this be a rom problem?
is there a fix or a patch or anything to return the vibe fuction, it was working prior to the rooting of the phone. is this normal and can it be fixed.
looking for any help be it a downloadable patch, a point in the right dirction to finding and fixing myself. Any kind of help thanks. yes this is the first time i have rooted any phone(i'm a noob)

Try wiping the dalvik/cache too before flashing, if you didn't.

Or sometimes a simple battery pull and reboot can work.

wipe the data/cache, re-flashed rom
tried the battery pull. never tried to wipe the dalvik not sure what that does
