problem in connecting my phone to pc

i have at&t samsung galaxy s4 mobile model no:sgh-1337 ..when i connect my mobile to pc ,its getting charged up but its not able to show my mobile icon in my pc..how can i fix this problem and also how to update my phone because when i try to update it its showing that u r software is up to date but my software is 4.2.2...pls help me and provide me with a solution.....i also tried with samsung kies....its also not able to fix my problem

Welcome to the forums.
I would download and install updated Samsung Drivers. Restart the PC.
Also, you may want to try different cables or USB ports.

It could be driver issues like Golfdriver97 said. But there could be connection issues with your PC, your phone, the cord might not work properly. I've been there myself, I know how it feels. Try updating the drivers like Golf said, and if that doesn't work, try connecting to a different PC if possible.

There are two different kinds of cables. One is charge only and one is charge and usb. Make sure you are using the correct cable.
