Problem opening up preview with Message+

I own a galaxy s5 under verizon, and up until yesterday, I had no problems whatsoever with the phone. However, starting yesterday, I've had this problem with the verizon message+ app. Whenever I try to open a new message by clicking on the preview shown on the lock screen, my phone automatically locks. When I go to unlock the phone, I am brought to the conversation that I intended on opening, but I am scrolled halfway up the conversation rather than being at the bottom.

I have cleared the cache for the app, updated the app, and restarted my phone, but the problem is still prevalent. If you know what to do, please share.

I can't help your problem there but I gave up on using Message + and downloaded Textra. I was having a plethora of problems with the Verizon messaging app with not getting messages or blocking photos from certain users. It was too buggy for me. Good luck on finding answers!
