I'm trying to revert back to the stock configuration by having 8 interrupted boot sequences, but I'm having a lot of trouble actually getting to 8. The problem is I hold the power button till the screen flashes to start it up, then when I see the welcome message I hold the power button until the screen goes off. However, roughly every 3rd time I do that the nook still continues to boot. I don't get what I'm doing wrong considering it works once or twice doing exactly what I'm doing all three times.

My best guess is I have to continue to hold the power button after the screen goes blank, but for how long?

Hi,

Why don't you try the "Restore Nook Color to rooted stock" sticky, did restore twice on my NC.

Doesn't work for me. I tried both a 1.0.1 image and a 1.1.0 image, and when I restore they both refuse to boot (freezes at the nook loading splash screen).

I had a hard time w the reboot too, but I was persistant and it finally worked. If you hold both the volume up and down buttons plus the power button it will shut the device down when it refuses to shut off. Then I also found a site walking you thru a reset using buttons only. I've referred to it a couple of times in these forums because it was the only thing that worked for me at one point.
