Problem since updating to 4.1.2

My friend sold me her old deactivated S2 to use as a media device. I use VLC Streamer to stream movies and WWE's app to watch wrestling stuff on the WWE Network. Both apps worked fine with 4.0.4 but since the update VLC plays video but in slow motion and jerky. WWE Network starts but goes to a black screen and only does the audio. Any idea whats wrong?

Thanks, I decided to just try a hack and I'm now on Kitkat 4.4.2
