problem taking eris out of root

Ok, i currently have the DX,and i gave my gf my eris but she didn't want it rooted. so i took the steps to unroot the phone and now it dual boot animation (from 1.5 and 2.1) it seems like the boot loader is locked bc to get to the loader.i have to hold power n send. Power and vol down does not work. I've tried everything. I still have the nand backup for 2.1 but it still dual boots. Is there way new way to unlock the bootloader for 2.1? Any and all hep would be great.
