Problem w/ Audio...scratchy, tinny & "S" Has a Lisp

...but restarting the tablet brings the audio back to normal. Twice the audio (playing music both times I've noticed it) has been really really bad! I tried it with both of the music players I have installed. I think I even tested it with a movie. But I can restart the tab and all is back to normal. What's the likely culprit to something like this? Software or hardware?
