Problem with Google maps app...

Whenever I try typing in the search bar on the top in Google maps the keyboard randomly gets put away and whatever I typed disappears and I have to type the location etc all over again. Sometimes I have to do this several times before what I type stays so that I can hit search.

Has anyone experienced this on their One X or have any suggestions on how to fix it? I never had this problem with my other phones and its getting really annoying.

Are you using the stock keyboard or a replacement one? Cause I face the same problem in Foursquare on Swype, but I just switch over to the stock HTC keyboard to type stuff.

Seen the same problem with Swiftkey.

Usually this is because it actually launched the search, because the back arrow is so close to the enter key. Fat Finger problem.
Its always likely to happen when I am making a correction.

Because the new Google maps has instant search turned on by default, and no obvious way to turn it off, any little hicup in your connection can also reset this. Doing a search in EDGE land is a real nightmare.
