Problem with rings, sounds, notifications

My new N6 that I am using on Fi seems to have a issue. When I wake the phone and put in my lock code, when it goes to the home screen from there it crackles in the speakers for a second, same when I put screen to sleep, it crackles. Also, when I turn vol up or down, the pop up menu only has a main slide control for ALL volumes in one, no way to set the volume for rings, notifications, or media. No 3 dots in right corner, nothing. Also if I go into calls and select ring tone to change it, when it plays the "sample" it is really muted the first play, second time it plays loud. So when I get a text, its muted, called usually are too.
Can't find out what is causing the issue.

I called Amazon last night, they offered to take it back and refund, they said it was easier than exchanging it. So they emailed me a return label, I dropped it off at UPS store today and the full refund is in my account this afternoon.

So I went and ordered a Nexus 5X 32gb today and they already billed me for it.

It is a hold charge the money won't actually come out until it ships. If it was a CC it'll disappear after a week, and reappear every so often.
