Hi I'm hoping someone can help. My s4 has been fine for months until the last few days.

Now my battery can drop from 70% to 0% in seconds. The phone turns off and won't turn on until in plug it in to the mains. It can happen at any time.

The phone is not getting hot and has minimal use while I'm at work other than Facebook etc .

Have you tried a different battery?
How old is the battery?
Once the phone shuts down and you charge it, what's the percentage displayed?

Battery was fine till a few days ago and phone never shut down without reason. Have attached a picture of last 'drop' in charge.

Samsung had a batch of dud batteries supplied. They exchange free of charge. Take it in to a dealer. Easy check, if the battery spins on a flat surface it has swollen and is defective.

Thank you all for the words of advice. Battery does indeed spin on a flat surface. Can see slight swelling to compared to another battery.

Will be visiting my local phone shop in the morning.

Just an update.

Took the phone to carphone warehouse and apparently they need to send it to Samsung for 10 days and it will be wiped clear of all data !!

Not sure why if it's a known battery fault. With this in mind I have purchased a replacement from amazon that arrived overnight for ?20.
