Problem with Samsung wireless charger

I bought a Samsung S7 edge and got a free Samsung wireless charger with it. The first problem is, it doesnt charge my phone unless its plugged in. Second problem, it takes way too long to charge. Wanting to know if anyone has a solution,? And why call it a wireless charger, if it needs to be plugged in.

Yes, the wireless charger has to be plugged in, it will not receive power otherwise. Unless you are talking about the phone needing to be plugged in.
To have high speed wireless charging the charger has to be plugged into a high speed charger and good cable, Samsung provides both with the phone. Second you have to have high speed wireless charging turned on. Go to settings, search wireless, then toggle it to on if it is not already toggled.

you might need to turn on fast charging in the settings.... or make sure the USB is plugged all the way in or else it will charge slow
