Problem with YouTube app/account

I recently deleted my youtube account that was connected through a gmail address I have. I then created a new one connected to the same email.

Everything is working fine with the website but the app keeps trying to sign into that new account. I signed out and signed back in with my email and it keeps trying to log into that new account.

I cleared cache and data and that didn't help so I deleted and re-installed and still no luck.

I appreciate any help!

How did you create this new account - from the phone, or on YouTube website?

I created it through the site. I went in to my old one, deleted it, then created a new one using the same GMail address as before. Everything works great through the site, just not the app.
