problems after installing ics

Just for kicks, here is a screen shot pre ICS.

I'm looking for the phone icon in bottom middle.

How is everyone else making calls? Do you have a phone button? Is the bottom of your homescreen different than mine?

Go to all apps, find phone, and drag it up to the new launcher where you see all apps located. You can put a total of 4 apps in that space. As seen in the picture of my screen I dragged email, phone, messages, and camera into my launcher area. Hope this helps.

This is probably a really stupid question but I can't figure it out....

Where the hell in the on screen phone icon/button at the bottom of the screen? I just have the App launcher now and can't figure out how to make a call or get to the phone.

I know it's something really simple I'm missing.

Long press on your screen and it will ask if you want to add a widget or app, choose app and it add phone, or mail, or people, etc. It will install the app on your home screen and you can drag and drop the app to your dock.

That's not working. I don't have phone in the All Apps button at the bottom of the screen. The only way to find the phone app is to go into Settings/Apps/All. It's there but I can't figure out to get it to the launcher at the bottom of the screen or even on my home screen. Long holding doesn't seem to work.

That's the issue. When I long press on my home screen and choose apps, "phone" or even "Dialer" is not listed.

I can only find the phone app by going to Setting/Apps/All. It's there but I can get it to the home screen via this method.

I see there are other people having the same issue on another forum per the post a few back.

Can anyone here confirm they can find the Phone app when they long press the homescreen and then search the apps?

Thanks for all the help.

I'm still having the message issue, but it's only with one conversation thread. VZWSupport twitter suggested hard reset, but I don't want to do that...

Having the same problem with the missing phone app. Nowhere to be found aside from my lock screen! As a quick fix I just put the people app in the bottom menu and then go to phone from there.

I'm having the same problem. I did a reboot and a battery pull but I still have the problem. If you figure it out please pass along the fix.

Well at least that's a workaround. Just one more step I guess. But, it would be nice to get the phone app on the launcher bar.

Hopefully someone or maybe Verizon/HTC will have a fix. Only took 8 months to get ICS so it should be fixed very soon.........

the only thing i noticed was that i was on a phone call and the phone started to make a siren type noise and i had to reset the phone but it only happened once hopefully *knocks on wood*

No issues...however quick question...

Is this going to be a fix for the 4G issue?

Can I finally say goodbye to 3G? Lol

My 4G connection seems pretty stable under ICS. Time will tell.

Um anyone know what happened to the ability to switch between 3G and LTE? Do we now need to have to install the Thunderbolt LTE On/Off app?

It took forever, but I saved my SMS messages to my SD card, deleted the SMS messages, and then restored them from SD. That seems to have done the trick. Picture messages didn't save, so if you go that route and you didn't save the pics from the message thread already I think you're SOL.
I figured this out myself, rather than taking the "hard reset" advice from VZWSupport

With my luck I'll probably have all kinds of issues.. Not downloading 'til I get home to work on some WiFi.. Stupid tiered data..

No T No shade, but in how many threads did you post this same comment or something almost exactly the same?

Thanks, I tried this too but I got an error message when I tried to save my sms. I ended up deleting the one conversation thread that wouldn't load. I hoping this fixed the problem.
