Most of the problems that people are experiencing can be solved with a factory reset. I know it's a rough option but that's just the truth of it. The OTA is basically a "dirty flash", and ROM'ers will understand what I'm saying here. Dirty flashing ROMs can cause all sorts of weird issues, and the OTA is still more or less just a ROM update.
I strongly agree. I know people don't like it, but especially at such a large update, the phone may run better with a factory reset.
I've had the same issue with wi-fi dropping. If i turn it off and back on it works, not a big problem, just annoying. Anyone know if this is a setting or a bug?
VZ Media Manager keeps trying to load and it fails and keeps running. I killed it through the apps running apps menu, but how can I get rid of it? Anyone else's doing that?
.12 is very fast on the Rez, Jerry. You have to be willing to do a full reset via HBOOT to enjoy the upgrade.
This is technology. If we aren't willing to follow the right processes, we might as well be knitting.

huh? what's wrong with knitting?
what's an hboot going to do to my phone?
lol. Knitting is for slow, lazy types; that's all.
The HBOOT screen is what I mean. To get to it, make sure Fast Boot is off ( Settings > Power ). Turn off device. Hold volume down button while pressing Power button. You'll see an option to factory reset there.
In the past, I found that reset to be better than the one you get in Settings.

ok, thanks, but what will that wipe out? not my data/photos/music? just the system?
Actually, knitting is for the more affluent due to its slowness and labor intensive nature compared to weaving. In the pre-industrial era, one did not have time to sit around knitting stuff when there was other necessary work to be done. So, by all means, go out and toil away in the fields, serf. I shall sit here in the shade, sipping lemonade working on my latest doily.
Go to all apps, find phone, and drag it up to the new launcher where you see all apps located. You can put a total of 4 apps in that space. As seen in the picture of my screen I dragged email, phone, messages, and camera into my launcher area. Hope this helps.
Just had some weirdness with WiFi...
could connect but only with the little dot at the base of the WiFi symbol (no radiating arcs), after a few seconds the connection would drop.
router working fine, verified with laptop.
turning WiFi on and off didn't help.
was about to reboot phone when I opted instead to check voicemail.
after checking voicemail, WiFi signal indicator shows full strength and no more connection issues.
anyone else?
