ok.. so last week i dropped my galaxy s2 and threw it into a bootloop. something got jack on the main storage and i found this htc one s on craigslist.. unrooted, stock.. however i didnt verify this prior to leaving. got it home started working on it..
its been a number of years since i've been on a htc device. my first was an inc back 4yrs ago. ran that for a bit before we left sprint to go to tmobile when i got my s2..
i jumped online followed a tutorial and and got my bootloader unlocked first.. proceded to flash a recovery that followed that guide, early twrp i believe. flash went fine, went to recovery from the bootloader menu, i got met with "htc dev purposes only".. so i went and downloaded a CWM recovery, 6. sumthing, flashed that, same htc dev error.. *** TAMPERED *** *** UNLOCKED ***
went back online did some research. prior to buying the phone i had no idea of the s3/s4 variation.. looked up my phone based off info i could find on it, appears to be an s4 based off quadrandt system info.. i seen a post that mentioned flashing a wrong version recovery to your phone could produce this htc dev error.. so i went and got an RUU, relocked the phones bootloader and got back to stock.. been on it a few days now in that case..
this afternoon.. unlocked bootloader agein ***UNLOCKED***..decided to try and sift through some material and wound up going with a twrp 2.6.3.0 recovery.. flashed that.. again htc dev error..
