It's a possibility if it's old
He said he went to Att to get the credits, so it sounds like he's a new customer. Either way, I hope OP gets it straightened out.

I'm going to the ATT store after work to see what can be done. I've tried what you all suggested with no luck. I hate that I went to ATT just to get the free N20 (with bill credits) now.
Doesn't hurt try another simHe said he went to Att to get the credits, so it sounds like he's a new customer. Either way, I hope OP gets it straightened out.
It should be configured correctly if done by storeTry this... Go to settings>connections >mobile networks>APN. Top of the page you can edit or add APN's. Add this APN. Type it in exactly how you see it here Restart phone after, and give it a try. I get better signal strength with this APN, maybe it can help you.

I will try your APN with for my Att , I don't have issue but if it works better why notCorrect again. But it's been documented by other users, including me that they have had better success with the NXTGEN APN as opposed to the Enhancephone APN. He loses no features, and if he's willing to try it, go for it.

Poo huh lmfaoTrust me, I was pulling my hair out with this issue. I didn't want to change carriers because I hate Verizon and T-Mobile isn't as strong in my area and I need Wi-Fi calling for work. I was willing to try anything. If someone would have suggested rubbing dog poo on phone would fix the MMS issue, I would have done it, lol.
Well, maybe see if they new one has the same issue. So, even after acknowledging that this is a known issue with the N20 Ultra when calling ATT tech support again, their best option is to send me a replacement under warranty phone. I think I'm going to sell it New on eBay and pay it off, get an unlocked phone in the meantime and go back to TMobile. Jesus.

I doubt it , try it in safe mode ?I probably will but I am so over ATT right now. I bet it's a software issue.
If you have choice, then anyway better to jump to tmobile or Verizon since atleast unlocked models work with all carrier features unlike crappy AT&T.So, even after acknowledging that this is a known issue with the N20 Ultra when calling ATT tech support again, their best option is to send me a replacement under warranty phone. If you search these forums and find the threads that discuss SMS/MMS issues, most of them are phones that are locked to At&t. But At&t gives the same answer every time someone calls, it's not on their end. My wife and I had so many issues with our S20U's that we gave up & we both got N20U's. Now, I haven't had any issues, but my wife said last night that she had issues sending pictures or group messages.
As I indicated previously, you may be correct, but we don't know until we try and eliminate the obvious. What did you do to resolve the issue if it's resolved?
So, switching phones resolved it for you?
