Problems Rooting ZVJ

Zvh sucked, don't bother. You would be much better off running zvd and then use the baseband fix to get ZVJ roms to work on it.

I knew the zvh stock rom was borked but I thought the radio itself was ok

Now to that I cannot answer as I only ran stock based zvh on it. So I very well could be wrong.

yes, I am. It's very frustrating. I teamviewed Wraith for this already, but if you want you can try as well. did you read up on the whole issue and stuff? I don't really wanna do it tonight though. I'm a lifeguard and worked ALLL day so I'm tired. Do you have a job?

Yeah I was thinking either tomorrow evening or tuesday evening. Or the weekend, maybe that would be better so we don't have to worry about time. I do have work basically 9-4 every weekday.

I read through the OP, and I just read through both the automated and the manual processes for rooting ZVJ, but I don't think the problem is in the rooting process but perhaps on the phone itself. I don't know what, though. But I'd be happy to give it a whirl.

What did you and Wraith find when you guys tried? Any useful discoveries, or was it pretty much just dead ends all around?

I'm actually inclined to agree with you. I think it's a problem on the phone itself, although I can't imagine how or what is wrong. I can get root no problem on other basebands...

We found out that when I flash the last update.zip, the one that is supposed to give the expected error, I got the error, and then when I did adb, I got #. (root access). but it's only temporary root access. and I can't mount the system or the sdcard. -_- so I don't know.

yes, perhaps this weekend would work better. I'm good on friday night. or saturday morning.
