Problems using micro SD card

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus with 3.2 Honeycomb OS and Touchwiz (GT-P6210(MAYXAR[I think]). I downloaded Audible for Android and some books to it which work. Then I used the USB connection to load several of my Audible books from my computer to the micro SD card I have installed. The tablet said there was no program that could open the books. I copied the Audible file to the card and put the books into the Audible file. The tab still couldn't open the books. I also tried transferring a book from the computer into the tab's internal memory, directly into the Audible file,but that didn't work, either. I need to know how to download/install onto the micro SD card and have the content work. If I have to download the books online like I did the first couple, it will take an hour for each book due to our Wi-Fi provider(and they will take up internal memory space), so I would really like to use the USB connection to get them from my computer, but how do I do this so the tablet works with them? If I have to download them online, is there a way to download them to the SD card?

I have had the same problem trying to load Kindle books to the SD card. The Kindle app doesn't find them.

Samsung has told me that it is an app problem and I need to get help from the third party that supplied the app, but I was wondering if anyone knows about an app that will help me to use the SD card for storing books and audiobooks and use the tab to read/listen to them? Or some other possible way around the problem.

The audible app will only recognize books on the sdcard\audible folder. You can copy audible books that are format4 over I believe but the easiest way is to just download them with the app. The audible app does not let you set the microsd card as a place to store books.

I created an "Audible" folder on my SD card, then transferred books into it, but the Audible app didn't recognize the books, so I copied the Audible folder from the tablet onto the SD card, then transferred books into it, but the Audible app still didn't recognize the books. I did make sure that the books I transferred were format 4. Is there some step I missed? Some other way to do this I didn't think of? If I have to download the books online, it takes an hour or more for each book because our provider isn't the fastest, this is why I would really like to transfer them by USB. I would like to use a card at least for Audible content as I have over 100 Audible books. If I can't use the card, I will download the books 2 or 3 at a time, I guess.

After talking to Samsung, Audible, and Samsung again, it appears that this tablet only supports music being loaded on SD cards, so since I also had issues with this tab and eReader content, I am reluctantly returning this tab and trying one with Android Froyo (2.2) instead. Both Audible and eReader seem to be compatible with that OS. Does anyone have experience with Audible or eReader on the Samsung Galaxy 7.0 with Android Froyo (2.2)? Any suggestions?

I think you are misunderstanding the sd card and the microsd card. Your tablet has 16gb or 32gb which is mnt/sdcard to the file system on the tablet. This is where audible will create its own folder for storing the audiobooks (mnt/sdcard/audible) and that is the only place audible will look for the books.If you install a microsd card then the system calls it mnt/sdcard/extstorages/sdcard. If you put videos or pictures on the microsd card you installed the gallery app will find them. I use Moboplayer for videos and you call tell it to look at any folder on the device for finding videos. In short audible works just fine with Honeycomb. Just install the app and download your books in the app and you will not have any problems.

I think you may be right, that I have misunderstood. But I have used Palms for years and they are now dying and discontinued, so I was looking for something to replace them, and expected things to work like I have become used to. I have always used SD cards to store/use some of my files, especially things like Audible books which since they are audio files use a lot of memory.

But, this is from the "Audible for Android User Guide":

"Copying Audible files from your PC to your
Android handset
You can “sideload” files that you’ve downloaded from
the Audible.com website to your Android SD card,
making them available for playback within Audible for
Android. To sideload Audible files:
1. Plug your Android device into a PC using a USB cable
2. Mount your Android device by selecting “USB
connected” from the Android task bar
3. Locate your downloaded audio on your PC (the
file(s) generally reside in the /audible/download
folder of your PC and must contain a .AA* or .AAX
extension). Do not rename the files
4. Drag the desired file(s) to the /Audible folder on
your SD card
5. Disconnect your Android device from your PC
6. Open the Audible for Android application
7. Refresh the My Library screen
Your sideloaded files will now be available for playback."

And none of the books I transferred by this method whether to the main memory of the tab or to the SD card has worked.

I know what you are talking about using Audible and Honeycomb. It will not let you use the SC card for your books or apps. It's not a Audible issue, it's Honeycomb issue.

I believe the only things can put on the card is videos, contacts and photos. I too wished I had known this before I purchased the tablet.

I have an Ipod Touch that I have used for years to listen to my Audible books. Good luck
