Problems with Active Sync

Just switched from Blackberry Storm 2 to an Evo. I love the phone, but I having some issues with the Active Sync for my work email. I was able to get the email to sync, but I am not getting notified of new emails. I have to constantly manually refresh to get new emails. The settings are correct, I have it set up to deliver as items arrive, all of the notifications are on; still nothing. Can anyone help????
 
I hate Active Sync. That's one reason I stopped using my Motorola Q and switched to an EVO.
