Problems with auto focus?

Yep, can't get it to focus. Seems to have issues with that. I tried taking shots of my regular Note 20, no go at all without me backing way up for it. My S9 plus and iPhone both work fine with this. However, the regular Note 20 works fine.

Which lens are you using?

The one it defaults too when you open the camera. I didn't adjust the zoom at all.
When you get close to an object it should revert to 2X and then back off a little. The first couple of times a pop up should tell you to do that

Thats just a crop of the native resolution and shouldn't make a difference.

Thanks
That seems to be working.
Still getting the blur like live focus shots on some.
My 10+ camera seemed to get better with age

I just noticed an issue with autofocus as well. But I think the fact that it's using laser is part of the issue. I was talking a photo of the back of my Note 10+ for my records before I shop it and it was blurry. BUT...I noticed the image that was being reflected of the back of the phone was in focus. Seems the laser may not be able to see highly reflective surfaces. In the attached photo, you can see my recessed light is on focus. As a workaround, I just selected the surface next to the phone to focus on but I can see how this can be a problem in some cases.

Just took a picture of a mirrored wall unit...no issue. Must be because you are doing a close up. Zoom in to 2X and back off a bit on the distance.20200820_214904.jpeg

I don't think that photo is a great representation of what I observed. Mine is of a reflective surface that is a foot or so away but the reflected image is about 10 feet away (vaulted ceiling). Your image is showing the foreground and the reflected foreground right at the point of reflection. Not sure if you picked a different location for focus but if it's just using the center, then the area in front of and behind your final center will only have a mild blur. My previous photo represents a focus issue of focusing on the background of a close up object (see attachment). What I don't know is if other focus methods have a similar issue or not. I don't recall having this problem before though.
