Question....is anyone else having a problem downloading the Visual Voicemail update?

I get the following notification...
8e7c69f6bc5f12941bba5343666d17e8.jpg

But the update never downloads and never installs.

A friend at work is looking for the APK so that I can update the Visual Voicemail app and finally get rid of the notification.

Please note that I am rooted and S-Off, but I am on stock HTC Sense, and have stock recovery.

1) Do you have wifi on? It probably won't download if you don't have a wifi connection.

2) Even if it downloads, system updates will "fail" (actually abruptly end, or abend) because updating a system that's been rooted can brick the phone (even if it isn't currently rooted). If it's just an app that's being updated, it should work - on wifi or mobile data, with or without root. Bring the phone into the carrier if you can't find an apk. (Asking on the appropriate carrier forum at HTC One (M8) - XDA Forums might yield better results than asking here.)

Thanks for your reply.

WiFi is not the problem...I have tried to download the Voicemail App update using both WiFi and Mobile Data, and neither has worked.

According to my friend at work, being Rooted is not the problem, because the update is an APK. He has attempted downloading the update with my phone unrooted and completely stock.

As for asking on XDA, I'm unable to post there because I'm not a developer, but my co-worker friend has asked on XDA for me. The only answer he has gotten so far is that he would need to download the entire most up-to-date HTC stock ROM, and pull out the Visual Voicemail APK.

He, and I, were just hoping that there was some easier way for resolving the issue.

If you've managed to download the update but not install it, you've got the files on the phone. I'd have to do a thread search but they're in a cache or temp file and probably compressed, needing extraction from the install package.

This would be like any system or OTA Rom update. For sure you'll find your answer on XDA

FYI you don't need to be a "developer" to post on XDA.

We welcome all users but you will be expected to thoroughly search the forum before posting ;-)
