Okay, so me and my girlfriend watch allot of black mirror on Netflix and we used to be able to ask our Google home mini "hey Google, what are the best episodes of black mirror" and until today she would respond with a list of the best episodes after saying "here's what I found on the web". Today we asked her and she responds with "okay, for that you might like what's new on Netflix. Wanna give it a try?" If we say no she says "okay" and then nothing. If we say yes a weird voice pops in and says "please say that again". We ask the strange voice our original question and the answer is always "sorry, I can't help". My question is, how do I get our assistant to do the normal Google search like she used to and not use the strange Netflix lady that can't help. It's like a new girl was hired for these specific inquires but she's too dumb to answer our questions. Lol.

Remember, apps like Google and the mini and other such devices depend on an external (read: on a server at Google) database, so if they make changes to the database, the responses you get will change. One word you use may trigger some new data, so the request gets interpreted differently. (We don't have AI yet. We don't even have artificial stupidity yet. What we have is a program that can parse human speech and - most of the time - come up with something sensible. Most of the time, not always.)

I am somewhat aware of how the tech works I was just wondering if this was some sort off "app" that could be disabled maybe? She asked if I'd like to try it. Or, is there any other way to word the question so that she'll respond like she used to? Also, what exactly is this new "what's new on Netflix" assistant and can it be used to to do anything besides give me a list of new shows and movies? I just now activated it by saying "hey, Google let me talk to what's new on Netflix" and that's all it was able to do. It doesn't seem to be able to give me any information pertaining to my original question about "best episodes" or anything like that. If I'm wrong I'd like to know because if I'm not it's frustrating that our question triggered this new feature that can't give me an answer when a plain Google search worked perfectly before.

Open your Google Home app, tap Menu>Settings>Videos, and try Unlinking your Netflix. If Netflix is linked, it might default to that option you described. If Netflix isn't linked, perhaps it will go back to the previous response you preferred.
