Hi folks, looking for some advice. My P20 Pro has stopped working in my car. I've tried to narrow it down by trying a different car which doesn't work and trying other phones in my car which does work.

The problem has only just started and although my phone attaches to the car for calls I cant get it to attach for media and I assume thats why Android Auto just wont work. The phone is certainly is paired with the car.

Once the phones connected to the car if I try to start AA I just get a message asking me to pair the phone again and that just repeats every time I try to start AA.

I've attached a couple of screenshots that show the car suggesting that it's attached for calls and media audio, but my phone only says attached for calls. If i click on the media button on the phone it just flicks back off straight away.

I'm stuck as I can't see any settings that would stop this and it's worked many times in the past.

Can anyone help please?

Welcome to AC!
Have you tried deleting the phone from your car and then adding it back ?
Hi Mustang, yes I've tried it many times in the least week. I've also tried it on another car and it won't work on there either.

I think it's connected to my phone not showing that it's connected to share media audio (as in my attached pics). It shows that its connected for media on the car but not the phone and it won't let me select it either.

I have noticed that often when I've connected my phone to things in the past i get a pop up asking if i want to connect for charging/moving photos etc but i now longer get that message so that's what's pointing me towards a phone setting.

Have you tried different cables?
