Ok so my wifes phone was working just fine until the update! So after the update... the phone is taking off the charger with full battery and in 3 hrs its in the red less than 5% so i went into the batt usage and it shows that the display is uding 75-85% batt my dx is 30%.

I have done a factory reset with no success. Is it a batt issue or a phone? Anynody else have a problem? and i have rebootd in recovery mode and cleard cache and still didnt change.

any help???:-\

Re: Problems!!!

First off, Froyo is a battery hog. All hope isn't lost though. Check and see what apps are running constantly in the background. It may be a battery issue, but I would do things like lock the display at it's darkest setting, which is still nice and bright, disable background syncing of apps like friendcaster, set wifi to turn off when the screen does, etc.

Re: Problems!!!

Mine was the same way after the update. It was so frustrating. The only thing I changed was to set the wi-fi to turn off with the screen. After that my battery usage was back to what it was before the update.

Re: Problems!!!

Also turn off GPS when you are not using it. That has been found to be a major battery hog on Froyo.

hey nick, how do get the wifi to turn off with the screen. that would save on alot of battery usage. also, i did replace my battery about 2 weeks ago. at first nothing changed but after about a a week, i have great battery life. there is a thread on battery life( or lack threrof) and it really helped me to understand the problem a bit more.

Go menu=>settings=>wireless and networks=>wi-fi settings=>advanced=>wifi sleep policy, change it there.
