problen with samsung galaxy s3 mini

i have my samsung s3 mini but it won't get started. i even replaced the battery but noyhinh happened. even there is no reactionwhen i tried to enter the recovery mode......what else is the solution plz help

What happened leading up to this? Battery died, dropped, water damage? Was the phone stock or rooted?
