Has anybody had any luck getting one of these recently? I have ordered it twice and both times it came with the packaging properly labeled but the battery inside was for a Thunderbolt. Amazon's return policy is so easy that I'm going to try a third time, but it's getting pretty frustrating.

Same thing happend to me, ordered twice shipping said it was for the Inspire but the battery was actually for a Thunderbolt. Needless to say I wont bother with them anymore.

I got one when it was $4.95 plus $6.00 shipping. I didn't see any noticable improvement on my battery life. Probably about the same. But for $11 it was a pretty good deal for a spare.

I heard these batteries are poorly made and can actually do more harm than good to your inspire in the long run.

Here is a tell tale review on amazon for this battery:

The claim of the item to be 1600 mAH while keeping the same form factor as the original 1230 mAH HTC battery first raised my suspicion. Having done prior research to how batteries are made, it is simply impossible for batteries to expand by almost 33% while keeping the same form factor. Each individual battery cells requires space to fit! Somehow they magically shrunk the cells with technology not known to HTC and out delivered it? I don't think so. None-the-less, being frustratingly annoyed with the 1230mah battery, I decided to bite the dust and give it a try. After all, it is through amazon, how bad can it be?

Seller is awesome by the way. Item was delivered in 2 days and arrived in "brand new" condition. I quoted brand new because there was no packaging involved, just a plastic bag wrapped battery.

Upon receiving the battery, I weighed it on a metric scale. The original HTC 1230mah battery weighed 0.894 oz, but this ProdiCell "Premium" "1600mAH" "Slim" "Extended" battery some how only weighs 0.758 oz. Woah, now that just ticked me off completely. Battery cells assuming are made with technology of current era, should weigh about the same per cell. These guys not only did they shrink the cell size, but also managed to decrease the weight? That deserves a nobel prize! Premium... I don't feel like it was covered in gold. 1600mAh - we'll see. Slim - the original battery is slim, yours isn't any "SLIMMERRR". Extended- further test required.

Now, I know batteries don't run their max capacity when they are brand new. They require a few power cycles to activate the lithium cells inside. So that I did. Power cycled Prodicell's battery for a whole week, which comes out to roughly 15 complete charge/ discharge. (I didn't discharge the battery completely because discharging completely hurts the battery, so I recharged when it was down to 10%). On first impression, hey I think I feel it to work longer than before! However, I decided to complete a scientific study as I was taught to be scientific through out school.

I turned off all services (wifi, internet, bluetooth yada yada basically everything that could distort the study) and ran 3 trials of video playback with phone on max brightness, and max sound.

The original HTC battery after finishing playing a 2 hour 15 minute video had 39% battery left.
The prodicell battery of 1600mah after finishing playing a 2 hour 15 minute video had...................................................... 24% LEFT!!!!

I mean.. seriously, wtF? I ran the test 2 more times just to get a little more accurate. 2nd-time: HTC - 40%/ PRodi - 23%. 3rd time: HTC - 40%/ Prodi - 24%.

So, from this study, I conclude that the premium extended battery is indeed not 1, premium, and 2, not extended. I estimate it to be only around 950 mah.

I promptly returned the item. The sellers are good, gave return authorization right away and apologized. Money was refunded promptly. No harm no foul. Just like that, my quest to find a truly extended battery continues.

Basically if it weighs LESS than the stock battery then stay away. Always do research when buying electronics online.

The reviews for that battery were brutal. I'd just get a spare OEM battery and call it a day.

Actually, the reviews were pretty mixed. I did look at them. Maybe the quality control is lacking and some are good and some are bad. Anyway, I'm not looking for a spare battery. I'm not interested in having to go through switching batteries during the day. I think I'll wait until a more trusted manufacturer comes out with one. Until then I'll just put it on charge whenever convenient.

o

I have two extra batteries. The 1st is the Seiko or whatever that brand is that alot of people talk about on here...it was like 30something dollars. This battery works just like the stock one and lasts the same as the stock if you do not use your phone. Use your phone for 1 hr or more and it will die super quick. The 3rd battery I have is a battery my friend got me off ebay that came with a wall charger. I never use this battery but it is my extra extra emergency battery. So in total I have 3 batteries. When my stock one is dead (I hardly let it die) I put in the Seiko and I charge by stock battery on the wall charger and vice versa.

This is probably the best combo I recommend to people.

oh and the 3rd battery from ebay I think was made for a desire HD but it works. It is all black and looks super duper generic haha

I already have one of those New Trent portable chargers, so I just take that with me when I know I won't have any other charging options.

pazzo02,

I heard it from product reviews and from a blogger who does phone reviews (I forgot his name.)
He did mention though that they are cheaply made in China and could do harm later down the road to your phone. I will try to look it up and post it here.
