Pros and Cons of the Galaxy S8?

I've been disappointed with the galaxy series and the less than sub par TouchWiz UI since they "upgraded" when I still has my S2.

The Note7 was a brilliant device except for the idiotic glass back and of course the battery issue.

If possible wait for the note 8 or get a LG V20. I decided on Iphone which sucks slightly less than the Galaxy series.

S8 Note 8 have glass backs and V30 will too. At this point I don't know if I'd get a V20 if I didn't already have it. It does have many features that I need though that other phones don't offer.

I'm using a v20 now. Everything that I need in a phone is in this phone but this has a screen retention. My 2nd screen now and still got it. Never used it for navigation or put the brightness in full. A lot of v20 users are complaining about it too.

So if this S8 has burn in, then I won't switch.

As many have said, they don't get this problem. I do so I'm out as far as amoled goes. You may be fine.

To add to what you're saying, the amoled burn in I see on my Samsung phones shows up on white backgrounds. Many people may not even notice unless they go looking for it.

The only negative I usually see in forums and groups is how hard it is to find a perfect Tempered glass or screen protector for the curve glass. Also the compatibility of screen protector. Also some problems are weak screen. There are few claims that they dropped their phone a few feet and the screen cracked.

But I don't have these problems. I'm using UAG as a case and dropped my phone a lot already and not a crack or scratch. Also bought a screen protector that can be customizedly cut to fit my case.

I've had all the Note phones w/the exception of the first. Now I have the S8+. Never had burn in. Used the Note 4 literally 24/7 because I kept a microphone in my ear all night. Crazy, I know. Went through 3 to 4 batteries every 24 hours because my job involves alot of waiting. Screen still looks perfect. Had to use it for a couple of weeks when I lost my current phone.

Mine stays on all day for Google Maps navigation. Full brightness and never had an issue with burn in

It will though. The S7 did too, it just takes a few months of daily maps (android auto for 4-8 hours a day in my case) use. My S7 Edge was in bits with screen burn before I replaced the phone.

Sometimes I can't sleep at night and I'll sit and play some card game on the phone. The same basic image (of the card table and whatnot) will be on the screen for 2-3 hours at a time. I have yet to see any evidence of burn in (unlike with my 10 year old plasma TV that's starting to show its age :'( ).
