Proximity sensor issue

Anyone having issues with Huawei y5 2019 drop down menu opening while your on a phone call and you accidentally start changing settings like shift the screen brightness to 0 , or start accidentally clicking things with your ear

Welcome to Android Central! Does the screen normally go dark while up against your ear on a phone call? Some phones don't have a proximity sensor, so that's why I ask.
