Thank ypu.
Sorry, you are right!
I found this thread searching for an abnormal behaviour of my pixel 7 pro's proximity sensor.
I figure out now that this Is and old thread.

Re: Proximity sensor is overly sensitive all of a sudden.

Ok I'll move your question to pixel 7 forums

Op might want to state what his issue is from the begining. Reading the first post is like coming in at the middle of a conversation.

@Coop61 this is how the root of this post started;

If I go anywhere near the top of my phone my screen turns black. Say when pulling down notification bar. It seems to go off right before I get to the Samsung logo, below the ear piece. Normally the screen only goes off in a call.

I've had the same screen protector for months and the sensor is not covered. It's not dirty and there are no scratches. I also haven't dropped the phone or gotten any water in the speaker. No new updates or apps.. Is there a way to calibrate it or even shut it off?

Did you figure out anything @vikingsandsurfer?

I would like to calibrate the proximity sensor too. It's aggravating since I have very bad eyesight and hold the phone too close to my face.
