Putting number from old plan into new Tbolt plan?

So I'm currently on a family plan as the second line, but it's ending soon here. I'm just going to end up getting my own single line and was going to get the Tbolt. I just was wondering if it would be possible for VZW to take the number I have now on this family plan and put it on the new plan I'm getting for my tbolt?

It's not that big of a deal if I need to get a new number, but it would save a lot of hassle having this same number I do now.

Anyone know if I can do this, and how I go about doing it? I assume I'll have to wait until this plan actually ends before opening up my own, I've just never ported numbers before so IDK how it works. Thanks

I don't see why not, it be like porting your number from a diff company..they will port it for you

What you want to do is called an Assumption of Liability(AOL for short) which pretty much means you would be taking over responsibility of that account from whoever is the Account Owner of the family plan you are on now. You keep the same number and you can do it before your contract is up. What you have to do to have it done is have the person who is the account owner call in to Customer service and say that they want to do an Assumption of Liability to you and then you are going to have to call in and set up the acct in your name(i would suggest that you are with the Acct owner when they call to make the process go smoother/quicker).

Make sure you upgrade date wont change, when you go to your own account. Or upgrade to the Thunderbolt then move the number to your own account.
