Hey guys,

My warranty for my captivate ends 08/23 and my phone has stopped charging.
I checked if it would charge with different USB cables and chargers but it still won't charge. So I guess it's a hardware problem.
The phone was dropped once probably from 5 ft. to rough concrete(Im 6'1 btw).

I had a skinomi screen protector since I had this phone so the screen is fine.
It has some minor scratches around the phone but you can hardly see them.
The scratches in the pictures below is what's making ask this question.

I would like to know if AT&T would consider this physical damage? Don't want to send the phone and be charged because of this.
Also I have a Device support center in my area.
Should I replace it by phone or should I visit the support center?

I would walk it in, if that is an option. Things get dropped, the guys at that service center will know that better than you. I would not think that that scratch & dent would be cause to void the warranty, especially if you are clear that it has been working fine since that drop and only recently has it stopped charging. If you walk it in, you could at least walk it back out if they do not agree.

I went today and they said the warranty is voided because the USB cover was broken. Luckily I got the insurance when I purchased the phone but now I have to pay $125 :/

I'll definitely make sure to take care of the new replacement.

Thanks

Ouch. At least you get the warm fuzzy that your $5/month did not go to waste. Small comfort :).
