yeah I was just about to say the same thing, if you went to developer settings and four start mode Gmail inbox still isn't dark! What gives?

Yeah, the dark mode is beautiful and a feast for the eyes, so why do almost everything else but leave out one of the the most used apps of all?

Who knows, on the way is a pretty wide open speculative statement for sure. But at least they’re acknowledging it.
The apk is there via a link, maybe someone will jump on that and see how it goes.

since I can't find the APK file so quickly on second thought I'll just wait for the download and update via the Play store.

I don’t think it would be a separate option in the gmail app. I would think it would be just another app utilizing dark mode when the main switch in settings is turned on to dark mode. Calendar and the rest of the dark mode apps don’t have a separate setting. So it’s not working then? Hmmm, wonder what happened?

I was already running dark mode. Maybe apk mirror served up the wrong file. If anyone figures it out, please let us know.

After further checking, that is the correct apk. The interface is still bright white. Note the article says it's coming soon, not here yet. So we wait for another update when they get ready.
