[Q] Should I change the digitizer?

I have an old Galaxy Young S6312. It's working well. But the touch screen has a dead zone where the touch doesn't work. I find a video on youtube that it can be solved with the igniter found on lighter. I tried to fix it with lighter. it worked but then it started showing ghost touches. I don't touch anywhere but it assumes touch.
My question is if I change the digitizer of the phone, will it fix my issue?
