Qi Wireless Charging Coming Soon!

Sony announced via its blog today it will over a Qi enabled Wireless Charging Cover similar to the current cover as well as charging Pad. Personally not sure about the thickness as seen in the pictures, but if its minimal I'm in!

How does it work if inductive charging is not naively supported? Will the cover have to be plugged in to the phone's usb?

That's impossible though, if it needed to do that probably it won't sell. It probably uses the magnetic slot on the left side for the magnetic dock

Thats my guess as well. Either way, it will all depend on the thickness of the case as to whether or not I purchase it. Im excited to see.

I got used to wireless charging with the Nexus 5 and miss it. The magnetic charger is a poor alternative. It depends on how much bulk it adds though.
