My bf and I bought two new MT4G's yesterday and after setting everything up and getting the update we tried out the video chat on Qik. We had both set up Qik accounts but when I go into the app and select to view friends available for "video chat only" -- neither one of us can see the other. We also tried inviting each other manually with our user names, but the calls dropped before we could get any video to come through. We tried it on wifi and without. We also had the 'H' for signal (whether its 3G or 4G idk).. Anyone else having this issue?? Or know how to get it working?

I had the same issue, honestly didn't know what the problem was...I still have a couple friends who don't show up as having qik, but I have had video chats with them. I think the number one thing is that the contact must be stored in your phonebook, after that it would just randomly start showing the contacts...Try restarting the phone, or pulling the battery out...maybe that will force it to update...

I have an Evo and my gf has the MT4G. We had the same issue. What seemed to fix the problem was linking the account of the people with Qik to Qik. To do this go to contacts, select the person that you know has video chat, on the top right you should see a Link icon, tap that, then link for video chat. That SHOULD work. It worked for us and has worked for me with other Evo users in the past.

Couple things to check,
1 Make sure the user that is not showing has verfied their number on qik.com.
2. You can try and make sure you have the users email address under their contact name in your phone book on the phone, the one they used to create their qik account.

Mainly its the mobile number one though after they verify it go into qik and click sync contacts and they should show up
