so i was at the verizon store so i thought lets do a benchmark on the three top phones i have droid x but wanted incredible but i wanted it to have good benchmark ratings as well

here is what i came up with ( i did killed all tasks before the benchmark)

droid 2 : 1400 something

droid x : 1299

incredible :533 ( three times lower than droid 2 )

why is incredible so low can you guys check your this on your phone

here is a link to benchmark app

For droid2 is froyo so its faster. DroidX is a hybrid OS. It has parts from. 2.2 and a separate gpu. The Dinc i using different processer and HTC sense flavored which can slow u down

The Dinc's GPU is middling compared to the GPU on the Droid X and 2. That's a big part of the Quadrant test, and 2.2 won't help. But the DX and D2 also have more powerful processors generally (not all 1ghz processors are equal). I think you'll find the Dinc (and EVO) falls behind these two even when they are all running 2.2. (Note: I haven't seen benches of the Dinc running 2.2, but they may be out there).

But since GPU and raw horsepower only matter for the most intensive games, you have to decide if the other trade-offs are worth it (size, weight, UI). In my experience, the Dinc is snappier in the UI, when browsing, and when loading apps. So I don't get as many FPS when playing N.O.V.A. -- I'd rather play Abduction anyway. ;)

Beats me. It does not feel slow, at all. And I frequently feel like the DX stutters or stalls where my Dinc flies (I play with my coworkers on a roughly daily basis). I think it depends on what you want to do with the phone.

I wasn't aware that it was a hybrid OS with parts of 2.2, where'd you read this?

I am running the 8/1 leaked froyo and I ran it three times getting 1240, 1269 & 1291.

"3 times lower"????? UGH. How about one third? Or actually closer to one half.

In reality 1299 is closer to double than triple 533.

Meanwhile Droid 2 is an unfair comparison because it is running froyo. Compare the 2 when they both are running 2.2!

I get consistent 1200+- quadrant scores with my Dinc running Froyo so its all good in the end...

I just scored 1196 with tons of stuff running on Sky Raider 2.5.2. I also get scores consistently of 1200+. I'm surprised, though, that the DInc scored so low in the store even if it was running 2.1.

its been posted around the web when the X was released. also when u look at some features in the X they are 2.2 specif namely removing the slide lock gallery and other stuff i cant recall. maybe calling it a hybrid is not proper but been around the 9530 for awhile that's what im used to.

So does that mean that it's got the JIT compiler because it's scoring so high?

also, does that mean that when 2.2 officially comes out, we won't see that much of a performance increase?

/sadface if true.

I'm in the 1200's with my Inc. But I'm running Froyo. Remeber with quadrant though it's a multipart test. So your score will go up with a fast class sd card in the phone or if it has a separate graphics processor in it, and things like that. So take quadrant scores with a grain of salt they are just good blend / overall comparisons between phones.

Is there a better testing app? Just curious.

But the X is getting 1200+ with 2.1, it is bound to get much better cores with 2.2. The Dinc has the same hardware as the N1, so it's just a tad behind the curse CPU/GPU wise.

I haven't heard of a Dinc getting a 1200+ score running 2.1. [EDIT] The GPU must make a big difference in this test.

Honestly in my opinion if you want just per speed comparison you should be looking at linpack. It looks at just the memory / cpu sub systems in the phone.

Not to mention it has a dedicated gpu co-processor. Hardware wise they wouldn't be a full generation ahead in my opinion, however when it comes to graphics they would be a head of the Inc. The Inc will really start to look dated by the end of this year, especially when the dual core parts start rolling out with a gpu co-processor. So if your phone is doing like you want it why worry??

There are no parts from 2.2 on the Droid X. Where are you getting this information?
