Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 or MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G?

Hello,

I want to buy a cellphone and I have two options to choose from:

1- Xiaomi Mi 10T

2- Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T 5G

The Xiaomi Mi 10T use "Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 (7 nm+) Chipset" and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T 5G use "MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G (7 nm) Chipset". Which one is better and recommended?

Any idea welcomed.

I don't know anything about the phones themselves, but in general, I'd go for a Qualcomm, because of their reputation and proven quality. MediaTek has historically been more of a budget chip maker, but they have been expanding to more powerful SoCs, like the Dimensity series. It's probably fine, but there hasn't been a whole lot of experience with them yet.

I would also go with the Snapdragon. Historically mediatek chips have been difficult to upgrade android with. Also budget end mainly.

I know a friend with the Xaomi and he loves it. Cameras are decent too.
