Quality Issues With HTC One

Mine had a very small scratch on the top edge of the aluminum out of the box (doesn't bother me). There is a tiny light leak from the capacitive home button which appears where the glass meets the edge of the phone. Doesn't bother me TOO much, but is noticeable at night.

Today after 15 days of owning it, I noticed a speck of dust in the upper left quadrant of the screen. It is quite noticeable when viewing from a normal distance with a light coloured background. I am not pleased, especially since I'm 1 day past my exchange period. Had I known there would be such issues, I would have bought it somewhere else with a better exchange policy.

Update: There is another smaller, less noticeable speck on the screen a couple inches below the other one. I always seem to have bad luck with manufacturer defects in products I buy, and the return/exchange policy is never good (we aren't as spoiled for service in Canada), so I just wallow in my 1st world problems for a while then forget about it.

Not pleasant when you just spent a ton of money on a thing you'll stare at every day for 3 years.

With a gap issue, is there a possibility of dust getting under the screen for the htc one?

i started to get a few dust particles under the screen, and i have a case on the phone! i had started another thread about it, and someone mentioned it may be coming in through the speaker holes? i'm past my exchange too, so i'll just monitor it. if it gets really bad, i may just have to buy another one?

My first one had a spec of dust under the screen which didn't bother me but the rattling bottom speaker did, got that replaced for a brand new sealed one. This one has a slight gap all the way along the top and the screen prizes out slightly at the bottom so it's a little sharp.

Not bothered though phone works fine!

When I received my HTC One , there was a minor compression in the white plastic above the sim slot as if the phone had been dropped. Further to this there was a 1mm scratch in the circular pattern on the volume rocker. Went back with the phone to the shop one hour after the purchase to make them aware of the quality issues. The employee called the phone company's quality department, who said that HTC only would take back phones if they had the known error with the gap between the screen and the white plastic. Any other minor production defects where to be expected and would not be replaced. Was kind of disappointed with HTC's policy but decided I could live with the quality issues.
I have ordered screen protectors but they have not arrived with the mail yet. Now the phone is 6 days old and I have gotten the first scratch on my screen (1 cm) in spite of being very careful until I received the screen protectors. Only kept it in a pocket with nothing else in it.
Overall I am a bit annoyed with some of the quality issues with this phone. I have just swapped to HTC after several years with iPhones where I never experienced issues like this. That being said I absolutely love this phone and is really happy about changing to HTC One and Android, but is just a bit disappointed with some minor issues which is not to expect from a top model.

P.S. The iPone remark is not intended to start a fan boy discussion, but is just my personal experience :)

I got my second replacement yesterday, today i noticed the bottom left grill lifted slightly higher than tuescreen, and qnyone noticing pixels on the screen, seeming extra visible

I am sorry to hear this. I have had my one for almost two months with zero issues.

I'd seek another replacement.

And considering our display is 468ppi, no, I can't make out the pixels. You can?
