Query about automatic Google Drive backups

Can anyone explain to me about what automatically gets backed up on Google Drive. I have an Android Tablet running Android 6.0 and I need to do a factory reset to solve some problems I am having with it.

Before doing the reset I have checked that my automatic nightly backup exists on Google Drive. Yes, the latest backup does seem to be there OK but I notice it is showing only 12 apps - all Google apps - but is not showing any of the third party apps that are on my tablet, currently about 50 apps. I have always thought that after a factory reset I would have the option to restore ALL my apps from Google Drive.

Is this the case or not - I have all my apps backed up elsewhere as a backstop but what will I actually get by restoring from Drive after doing the reset??

Thanx in advance.I

Yes, I've already been on Google's help pages and I do not have any problems in my tablet doing the backup. It's the content that is my query - why only 12 apps showing and what's happened to all the third party apps I've installed from Google Play ?????

I believe as its stated in the guide depending on your Android version what gets backed up .

I believe it also depends on the app developer to take advantage of the Google backup option. Not all developers do that (which is unfortunate).

Further to above question I have checked on my phone backups on Drive and all the apps are there in the backup.
So, on my tablet where I am having the problem of only about 10 apps appearing in backup, are there any local settings on the tablet I could change which might be stopping the fuller backups?? The apps are the same ones that are being backed up successfully on my phone.....

What version of Android is your tablet running vs the phone? If it's an older version of Android on the tablet, that could be part of the problem.
