Question about AT&T NEXT

For all you att customers: if you have a phone to trade in, can you trade it to att to go towards the balance of NEXT to make the monthly charge less?

The way it was explained to me is that if you trade in your phone, it goes towards your balance of the device. It doesn't make your monthly charge less, it just helps you pay it off sooner...if that makes sense.

By being on Next or bringing your own device, you get a discount on your plan. Each line on Next or BYOD gets a $15 discount, or $25 if you are on the 10gb or higher. So, even if the trade in doesn't offset the monthly Next payment, it does help with the plan itself.
