I watched a video showing the silver Xoom from the MWC and the person demoing the unit repeatedly said the back was anodized aluminum, with that said what is the backing material for the more expensive one?
Is it aluminum covered with the rubber like cover or is it rubber on plastic? This is my only real beef with the Xoom.
The galaxy tab 10.1 appears to be rubberized aluminum and I have not been able to find any rock solid info on the Xoom build material.
I'm more then likely getting one regardless on launch day, just want some more info on the build quality.

I don't think anyone knows. I thought the Silver one was a European version though. But it may be that the silver one is a wifi version. Who knows

It almost, I repeat "almost" seems like the early all black builds were still unfinished hardware, take this review and video for example. This is all speculation so I guess we all have to wait till tomorrow when preorders become available and more info is availible.
It would be dumb to release a $799.99 tablet that is plastic in the US and aluminum in the UK.

The XOOM has long been rumored to be coming in multiple color options. When the Best Buy site was up (the one stating $1,199), it referred to that item as "licorice".

The original rumor stated 4 color options, and it was from the person who leaked the first images of a Verizon-branded XOOM.

But, no one is 100% sure. When it is available for pre-order we will most likely know for sure.

if its like the moto Droid line the xoom will be top notch. and not feel plasticy and toy like the HTC and Samsung phones.

In all likelihood the Xoom is aluminum with a rubberized coating and the tab is plastic. Moto phones are usually metal with a rubber coating so I assume their tablets would follow the same protocol.
