Noob question about screen timeout

I'm deeply embarrassed to ask such a basic question, but what settings do I use to increase screen timeout? I set screen timeout to two minutes, yet the screen fades to black in circa 10 seconds. I'd like my video wallpaper to play a bit more, but this also affects other stuff.

I believe there's also a setting of 'don't lock screen if I'm looking at the screen'. I have that off. That may or may not work in my case, as about a mm or two of the selfie cam (which I don't care about) is covered up by the silicon screen protector.

I have watched hours and hours of youtube videos preparing myself for the Samsung Note Ultra. I could rattle off the problems of the Exynos vs. the snapdragon, yet I can't seem to fix the little screen problem. I'm tech savvy, but never really cared about phones before and thus didn't study up on the intricacies.

And what exactly is the 'always on' screen? It seems a bit useless in my case. I have a custom theme going that I downloaded, a blue ghost lion. I have turned off the 'always on' screen since, but in this case it just seemed to be a dim screen with a picture of said lion. What's the difference between 'always on' and the video wallpaper? The wallpaper is what comes on in my case.

You checked lock screen timeout ? Also power save modes will disable any timeout settings you use .
For AOD it to show content at all times so you don't have to double press to open the screen.

Where in settings is that? I even did a search of 'lock screen timeout'. Nothing. I also looked under 'lock screen' in settings and went through every single menu. The closest I can find is screen timeout under 'secure lock settings.' I changed the setting to experiment. No change in the time the screen takes to go black.

Yes. I have it at 30 seconds. I even played around with it at 5 minutes. No change in the video wallpaper. The lion runs about 15 seconds. I know this because if I get the fingerprint wrong, it goes on for a few more seconds.

Press Settings > Device Care > Battery (On the Bottom Left) > Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner and click the settings option when it appears > Scroll down to Optimize settings > Turn off This feature OR turn off the middle option "Screen Timeout". Where the explaination says "Screen will turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity."

Thanks, Jetskier! However, my settings seem a bit different after this step ends Press Settings > Device Care > Battery (On the Bottom Left) > "

Under my 'more battery savings . there's an Adaptive battery, which is pretty similar to your 'optimize settings.'; I turned it off. No change to video. It only really affects the lion one. A search for 'optimize' turns up very little.

Running Android11, Oneui 3.1

However, searching DID lead me to the solution of my phone ringer problem.

My menus were different than jetskier's. I guess I'll have to chalk it up to one of those annoying minor problems I have to live with. I'd estimate that the screen times out after 10 seconds, unless I purposely/unpurposely get the fingerprint wrong. It really only affects the blue lion video.

Well, at least we're down to one major problem; the playlist. I can (hopefully temporarily) press the S5 back into service. Once that problem is dealt with, I can dig up the video which shows which third-party application mimics the notification light.

Yeah, I misread your problem, sorry. I was having a problem with my screen timeout resetting itself to 30 seconds everytime the phone restarted and what I told you fixed that. I've never had a wallpaper video, so I can't help you there.
