Question about Galaxy Note 3 Camera Timer

Hi i have galaxy note III but the min. I downloaded the kitkat-when I use the camera for selfie and I set the timer...and the distance is about 4 feet- i place the phone on a table-i get a black picture....can anybody help?? Can i uninstall the kitkat? I hate it

Are you sure it's not using the back camera to try and take the picture???

Yes I am using the back camera, when I set the timer on 2, 5 or 10 seconds I get a very dark pic. and it becomes more black when the distance from the phone increases and this only happened when I upgraded to Kitkat
