Lets say something on your phone breaks and you bring it to a Verizon store to get a replacement. Can they tell if you have been rooted even if you unrooted and remove all files from the sd card. Can they look at the apps you purchased like rom manager and setcpu?

Also what would constitute getting a free replacement rather than having to go through insurance

You may have to pay money for insurance but if you remove the apps from your device they shouldn't go into your downloads to check if they do then they should be in trouble

ya that is true because i guess that would be an invasion of privacy.

im hoping i dont have to pay because my ex girlfriend had her LG Voyager replaced like 5 times in the span of like a year and half. the LG envy is a POS in comparison to the droid but idk. i don't feel like spending (what is it, $80?) to get a replacement.

this is retarded. ok so my physical keyboard has been a little wonky from the beginning. (and no i am not complaining about the texture) when i typed sometimes a letter would repeat itself like i would type "today is saturday" and then it would look like "todday is saaturday" but i just reverted to the software keyboard. resently i decided i would bring it into verizon and get it replaced (free or through insurance) because aside from that the slide is a little loose (not horrible but it is noticable when it is clost).

so today i unrooted so this way i don't go into the store with a rooted droid and they tell me that i am S.O.L. because i voided warrantee. so i tried typing on the physical keyboard to see how often it happens so i can inform the customer service rep. So i am typing and i dont think i have seen an issue with it anymore. then again i have only had it unrooted for about an hour so i guess i will see how it is tommorow but it is a pain in the ass because i unrooted and now if the keyboard works i will have to go through the process to root when it wasn't necessary.

i just don't get how the keyboard works now when i unrooted. the root access should not have any affect on this.

Worst case, just back up the files on your sd card to your pc and format the sd card.
