Question about market downloads after factory reset

All Market downloads are linked to your Google account. Once you get your phone back up and running just hit the Menu button and go to Downloads, they should all be there, including the ones you have purchased.

If you're rooted, I'd highly recommend Titanium Backup. It will save your data within the apps as well and you can restore them all in one batch operation.

How do you get your market downloads back after a factory reset?

If you factory reset DO NOT activate the phone, bypass activation screen and connect through Wifi. then go to market, hit menu and go to downloads. this method will keep them all in the download history. after all your apps are back . then restart the phone and activate

If you activate the phone , you can still go to downloads but after you install one of the apps it will wipe your history

When I loaded a new kernal on my phone, it was wiped. After setting my phone up, I just went to the market, logged into my google account, and went to downloads and re-downloaded my apps. They were all listed in there.

Never had/heard of this problem before.

That's how it should work. :p

When you say "they were all listed in there", did it list both purchased and free apps? The reason I ask is because I thought I read somewhere that only the paid apps were listed after a wipe.

You may be correct about only paid apps showing up on downloads. I cannot remember if the free apps were listed or if I had just remembered which ones I had installed and searches for them manually.

I would just use Titanium Backup for all of them. You can backup/restore in one batch operation with it instead of downloading everything individually from the market again.
